Job Title: Transport Shift Manager

Location: Portbury, BS20 7XR GB

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Transport Shift Manager to join our team in Portbury. As a key member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for the successful delivery of our transport operations, ensuring a safe and efficient working environment for all employees, agency, and subcontractors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a safe and friendly working environment for all employees, agency, and subcontractors
  • Own the recruitment, induction, absence management, well-being meetings &121s process, including disciplinaries, grievances, and investigations within the transport department
  • Ensure effective communication within the transport teams through meetings and briefings
  • Responsible for delivery of operational KPIs. Maintain and improve performance levels to maximise efficiency of operation in line with account KPI's

Requirements:

  • Thorough knowledge and hands-on experience of a transport function within the FMCG Distribution Industry
  • A background operating at a management level is a must
  • Transport CPC – desirable
  • A passion for encouraging teamwork, focusing on creating an innovative culture where all employees can voice their suggestions and ideas
  • Excellent team management skills for developing your team
  • An analytical mindset
  • Flexibility to cover a variety of shift patterns in the future
  • You'll come into contact with Trade Unions (previous experience with this would be beneficial)
