Riccarton High School is seeking a highly motivated and experienced leader to oversee its outdoor education programme at Orohaki, the school's modern outdoor facility near Mt Thomas in North Canterbury.

This fixed-term role, likely from mid-January to early June 2025, involves leading the programme for Year 9 and 10 students, developing activities such as tramping, mountain biking, and canyoning, and recruiting instructors to help with training and management.

The ideal candidate will have experience working in or managing an outdoor education centre, strong leadership skills, relevant industry-based qualifications, and a current first aid certificate. They will be proactive, enjoy working with high school students, and be able to maintain a professional and personable manner at all times.

Responsibilities include preparing and managing the programme, undertaking outdoor activities and team-building exercises with students, managing camp instructors, maintaining risk management and health and safety documentation, liaising with school staff, ensuring facilities are kept in excellent condition, and developing the programme and resources.

We offer a competitive salary of $NZD 60,000 per annum, plus benefits including accommodation on-site (if desired) and opportunities for professional development.
