Job Title: Clinical Nurse Specialist in Paediatric Spinal Surgery

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our team at The Portland Hospital, a leading provider of privately funded healthcare in the UK.

About the Role:

As a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Paediatric Spinal Surgery, you will be responsible for providing holistic and evidence-based care to patients undergoing spinal surgery. You will work closely with a multi-disciplinary team to develop and implement care plans, provide specialist nursing advice, and drive service development and staff education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality patient care, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care plans
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with patients, families, and healthcare professionals
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of clinical policies and procedures
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and audits
  • Provide education and training to staff on best practices and new developments in paediatric spinal surgery

Requirements:

  • Children's Nursing Qualification – RN Child or RSCN with valid NMC registration
  • 5 years post-registration experience in Children's nursing
  • First degree in nursing or health-related subject
  • Relevant qualification in specialist area with at least 12 months experience
  • Mentorship qualification
  • Basic/Intermediate Paediatric Life Support
  • Experience of audit and research relevant to specialism
  • Knowledge of safeguarding processes, with up to date level 3 Safeguarding qualification
  • Knowledge of clinical governance and managing risk
