Job Title: ITU Nurse

University Hospitals Birmingham is seeking an experienced and skilled ITU Nurse to join our team. As a key member of our critical care unit, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide expert nursing care to critically ill patients, including assessment, planning, and implementation of care.
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to develop and implement patient care plans.
  • Supervise and mentor junior staff, ensuring they receive the necessary support and guidance to provide high-quality care.
  • Contribute to the development of our team, including participating in quality improvement initiatives and providing feedback to colleagues.
  • Participate in the on-call rota, providing 24/7 coverage for our critical care unit.
Requirements:
  • Registered Adult Nurse on the NMC register.
  • 6 months post ITU Course.
  • Health care management/leadership qualification.
  • Substantial post-registration experience working in a complex healthcare setting/Acute NHS care setting, supervising/mentoring junior staff.
  • Evidence of professional/clinical knowledge in the area, supplemented by specialist clinical and/or managerial training and CPD.
