Job Title: Director - Facade Engineering

Company: Singh & Jones Ltd

We are seeking an experienced Director - Facade Engineering to lead our facade engineering division in London. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality, innovative, and sustainable facade solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead and manage the facade engineering team, ensuring a collaborative and high-performance culture.
  2. Develop and implement the strategic vision for the façade engineering department, aligned with overall company goals.
  3. Oversee all aspects of façade projects, from design through to installation and completion, ensuring they meet technical, quality, and financial benchmarks.
  4. Ensure the continuous development of team members, providing mentorship and fostering technical excellence.

Project Management:

  1. Oversee the delivery of façade engineering services on a range of prestigious building projects in London and internationally.
  2. Work closely with architects, contractors, and developers to provide technical guidance and ensure facade designs are both innovative and buildable.
  3. Lead design reviews, providing expert advice to resolve complex engineering challenges related to facades.
  4. Ensure adherence to project timelines, budgets, and quality standards while mitigating risks and managing resource allocation.

Business Development:

  1. Drive business growth by identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, both locally and internationally.
  2. Develop and maintain strong relationships with key clients, architects, developers, and other stakeholders.
  3. Actively participate in industry forums, conferences, and networking events to enhance the company's presence and reputation.
  4. Prepare and present proposals for new projects and work with the leadership team to define pricing strategies and contractual terms.

Requirements:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field (Master's or chartered status preferred).
  2. Professional accreditation (e.g., CEng, MIStructE, RIBA, or equivalent).
  3. CIBSE Membership
  4. SFE Membership

Skills & Experience:

  1. At least 10+ years of experience in façade engineering, with significant leadership experience in a consultancy or contractor environment.
  2. A proven track record of delivering large-scale, complex façade engineering projects.
  3. Extensive experience working with architects, contractors, and developers.
  4. Familiarity with UK building regulations, standards, and safety requirements for façades.
