Electrical Maintenance Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Electrical Maintenance Specialist to join our team at HMP Parkhurst (IOW), a Category B Adult Male prison. As an Electrical Maintenance Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and safe operation of our facilities, working alongside experienced and passionate colleagues who share your commitment to creating a positive difference.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out electrical maintenance and repairs to ensure the safe and efficient operation of our facilities.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to identify and resolve electrical issues.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of electrical maintenance strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant health and safety regulations and standards.

Requirements:

  • C&G 2367 or 2357 (Electrical Installation) and NVQ level 3 in Electrical Installations or equivalent qualifications.
  • A certificate in BS7671 - The Requirements For Electrical Installations, 18th Edition.
  • A minimum of two years experience working in a role as an electrician, preferably within a healthcare, military or commercial environment.
  • An honest and conscientious character, with an ability to approach challenges in a calm manner and a positive attitude.
  • Availability to work 39 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
