Position Overview
As a Registered Building Inspector, you will play a vital role in ensuring compliance with building regulations across various construction projects. This position involves working within a designated area, where you will establish and maintain strong relationships with clients while providing expert guidance on building regulations.

Key Responsibilities
In this role, your duties will include, but are not limited to:
  • Conducting inspections of buildings under construction or conversion, collaborating closely with developers and builders to ensure adherence to building regulations.
  • Performing plan checks to verify compliance with building standards.
  • Managing your workload effectively to deliver a responsive and professional service, maximizing time spent on-site.
  • Documenting inspection details in the database and communicating findings to clients.
  • Maintaining ongoing communication with surveyors and management regarding technical matters to uphold standards and procedures.
  • Providing technical advice and support to developers, clients, and builders.
  • Undertaking additional duties as required while fostering strong professional relationships.

Qualifications and Experience
To be successful in this role, candidates should possess:
  • Registration at BSR Level 2-3 or on the path to achieving this.
  • Strong client engagement skills, technical knowledge, organizational abilities, and self-motivation.
  • Full membership or nearing chartership of relevant professional organizations such as MRICS, MCABE, MCIOB, or MCICIOW.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in building control, including plan checking and site inspections.

Knowledge Requirements
Applicants should have a solid understanding of:
  • Building regulations and associated legislation.
  • Construction standards and general insurance principles.
