Job Title: Vehicle Stores Assistant

The Norfolk and Suffolk Constabularies Transport Services Department is responsible for providing efficient vehicle and transport solutions, ensuring the availability of vehicles for their intended use.

We are seeking a skilled individual to join our team in the Transport Services Vehicle Stores department at Martlesham Heath, Ipswich, undertaking vehicle component duties such as:

  • Receipting supplies and storing vehicle components
  • Pre-picking service and maintenance components
  • Assisting with stock taking

To succeed in this role, you will require:

Essential Criteria:
  • Good numeracy and literacy skills
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy items as directed and appropriate to agreed limits
  • Attention to detail and ability to complete work to a high standard
  • Effective communication skills, both written and oral
  • Organisational skills and ability to work effectively as a team
  • Basic keyboard skills and understanding of MS Office suite

In addition, it is desirable that applicants have:

Desirable Criteria:
  • Current and recent experience working in a stores environment
  • Holding a full driving licence
  • Knowledge of a stock control system

This part-time position involves working 15 hours per week, Wednesday to Friday, with negotiable working hours between 08:00 and 16:30. The estimated salary for this role is £19,500 per annum.
