Adult Social Care Lawyer Opportunity

Sellick Partnership Limited - Public Sector is proud to be supporting a Local Authority in Essex with recruitment for a permanent Adult Social Care Lawyer.

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Adult Social Care Lawyer to join our client's friendly and supportive Legal Services team. The successful candidate will be able to undertake this role on a hybrid working basis, with office attendance required for 2 days per week.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparing and submitting applications to the Court of Protection and High Court, including COP applications related to deputyships, welfare, and best interests, deprivation of liberty, and judicial review.
  • Providing detailed and accurate advice on the Council's responsibilities under the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005, Health and Social Care Act 2008, Mental Health Act 1983, and associated Regulations and Statutory Guidance.
  • Offering legal advice and support across a range of areas, including ordinary residence, Data Protection, Freedom of Information, safeguarding, provider failure, section 117 aftercare, and 16-17-year-old Deprivation of Liberty cases.
  • Advising Service Managers and Directors on Adult Social Care policy and procedure.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or Legal Executive with prior experience gained within Adult Social Care.
