Assistant Ranger

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Assistant Ranger to join our team at the National Trust. As an Assistant Ranger, you will play a key role in the management and conservation of our natural habitats, working closely with our experienced Rangers and Area Rangers to deliver a range of tasks and projects.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct site inspections and monitoring of wildlife habitats to identify areas for improvement and develop conservation plans.
- Assist with routine practical maintenance, including vegetation management, path maintenance, and other tasks as required.
- Support volunteers and help deliver activities that strengthen people's connections with the outdoors.
- Work collaboratively with the Farne Islands ranger team and operations team at Lindisfarne Castle to achieve shared goals and objectives.
- Able to demonstrate practical experience in land, conservation, and access management to level 2 or have 6 months vocational experience.
- Willing to work outside in all weathers and deliver tasks when the weather conditions aren't ideal.
- Comfortable working in a flexible and adaptable way.
- Able to work alone or under direction, and as part of a team.
- Positive with an approachable attitude.
- Happy and willing to learn new things.
