Assistant Ranger

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Assistant Ranger to join our team at the National Trust. As a key member of our Ranger team, you will play a vital role in delivering our conservation and education programs, working closely with our Area Rangers and Operations Team.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct site inspections and routine practical maintenance to ensure the upkeep of our nature reserves and habitats.
- Monitor wildlife habitats and populations, identifying areas for improvement and implementing conservation strategies.
- Support volunteers and community groups in their conservation efforts, promoting a culture of collaboration and shared ownership.
- Develop and deliver educational programs and activities that inspire people to love and protect our natural world.
- Work closely with our Farne Islands Ranger team and Lindisfarne Castle Operations Team to ensure seamless delivery of our coastal conservation and education programs.
- Practical experience in land, conservation, and access management to level 2 or 6 months vocational experience.
- Ability to work outside in all weathers and deliver tasks when conditions are not ideal.
- Comfortable working in a flexible and adaptable way, with a positive and approachable attitude.
- Ability to work alone or under direction, and as part of a team.
- Happy and willing to learn new things, with a passion for sharing knowledge and inspiring others.
