PM Group is seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer Consultant to join their team in Lancashire. As a Mechanical Engineer Consultant, you will play a crucial role in overseeing a chemicals project and providing engineering expertise to ensure its successful execution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Asset Management Strategy: Develop and implement systems and procedures to facilitate the execution of the Asset Management Strategy, ensuring seamless integration with existing processes.
- Technical Support: Provide technical assistance to the Maintenance and Production teams, ensuring they have the necessary expertise to perform their duties effectively.
- Process Improvement: Identify, design, and implement improvements within maintenance and operations, including commissioning processes and minor projects, to ensure they meet SHE, Quality, Availability, and cost targets.
- Root Cause Analysis: Lead root cause analysis of equipment failures utilizing Maintenance Investigation Reports (MIR) to identify root cause and implement mitigation measures to prevent reoccurrence.
Requirements:
- Technical Knowledge: Proven technical knowledge of mechanical equipment specific to a production plant focused on rotating equipment such as pumps and centrifuges, along with knowledge of core fluid mechanics, including the design and operation of pumped systems.
- Regulatory Compliance: Working knowledge of the implementation and operation of systems to comply with legal duties such as PSSR, PUWER & LOLER.
- Communication Skills: Strong communication skills with experience of technical report writing.
- Attention to Detail: High level of attention to detail as well as a working knowledge of Continuous Improvement Techniques such as Six Sigma and Lean.
- Self-Motivation: Ability to manage time and workload against conflicting priorities.
- Qualifications: Degree qualified in an engineering discipline, preferably with chartership of a professional body.
