Mechanical Engineering Expertise Required
PM Group is seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineering Consultant to oversee a chemicals project in Lancashire. As a key member of our team, you will provide engineering expertise and assistance with the development and deployment of the Asset Management Strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a Mechanical Engineer Consultant to provide technical support to the Maintenance and Production teams, ensuring the effective implementation of systems and procedures.
- Identify, design, and implement improvements within maintenance and operations, including commissioning processes and minor projects, to meet SHE, Quality, Availability, and cost targets.
- Lead root cause analysis of equipment failures, utilizing Maintenance Investigation Reports (MIR) to identify root causes and implement mitigation measures to prevent reoccurrence.
Requirements
- Proven technical knowledge of mechanical equipment specific to a production plant, including rotating equipment such as pumps and centrifuges, and core fluid mechanics.
- Working knowledge of the implementation and operation of systems to comply with legal duties, such as PSSR, PUWER, and LOLER.
- Strong communication skills with experience of technical report writing.
- A high level of attention to detail and working knowledge of Continuous Improvement Techniques, such as Six Sigma and Lean.
- Self-motivation, with the ability to manage time and workload against conflicting priorities.
- Degree qualified in an engineering discipline, preferably with chartership of a professional body.
IR35 Status
This role is believed to be inside/outside IR35.
