About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Finance Analyst to join our Commercial Finance team at Ocado Retail Ltd. As a key member of the team, you will play a critical role in supporting the Fresh team and providing financial expertise to drive profitable growth for our business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Partner with the Fresh team to support leadership in making informed decisions and drive business growth.
  • Provide financial expertise and challenge to the commercial teams to ensure profitable growth.
  • Support the development and implementation of financial models and forecasts to inform business decisions.
  • Work closely with the data insight colleagues to analyze data and provide insights to inform commercial decisions.
  • Support the preparation and review of budgets and forecasts, and play a key role in developing and following up on 'gap closing' activities to ensure performance is delivered in line with expectations.
  • Support in annual business plans with suppliers to negotiate the best deal for Ocado, and monitor performance against agreed targets throughout the year.
  • Own the forecasting process for your category, making forecasting accuracy improvements and enabling key trade drivers to be understood.
  • Month end support by providing the central team with accruals and accurate supplier income forecast.
  • Identify and implement improvements to ways of working within the Commercial Finance Teams.
  • Evaluate and challenge new product launches, promotional activities, and new proposals/existing business to ensure profitability.
  • Participate in cross-functional project groups.
  • Provide ad hoc Finance support.
Requirements
  • Qualified accountant with 2+ years post-qualified experience, with strong academics.
  • Previous Grocery or FMCG experience is desirable.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills, ability to articulate financial data in a clear and transparent way.
  • Strong Excel skills and experience in building financial models.
  • Highly numerate and analytical with a keen eye for detail.
  • Deadline focused and goal-oriented.
  • Enthusiastic to learn.
