About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Finance Analyst to join our Commercial Finance team at Ocado Retail Ltd. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in supporting the Fresh team and providing financial expertise to drive profitable growth for our business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Partner with the Fresh team to support leadership decision-making and identify business opportunities to create value.
  • Provide regular, robust, and insightful reporting on trade performance, including mix vs rate analysis and brand performance.
  • Make complex financial scenarios easy to understand for non-financial colleagues.
  • Work closely with data insight colleagues to enable better and faster commercial decision-making.
  • Support the preparation and review of budgets and forecasts.
  • Play a key role in developing and following up on 'gap closing' activities to ensure performance is delivered in line with expectations.
  • Support annual business plans with suppliers to negotiate the best deal for Ocado and monitor performance against agreed targets.
  • Own the forecasting process for your category and make forecasting accuracy improvements.
  • Month-end support by providing the central team with accruals and accurate supplier income forecast.
  • Identify and implement improvements to ways of working within the Commercial Finance team.
  • Evaluate and challenge new product launches, promotional activities, and business proposals to ensure profitability.
  • Participate in cross-functional project groups.
  • Provide ad-hoc finance support.
Requirements
  • Qualified accountant with 2+ years of post-qualified experience and strong academics.
  • Previous grocery or FMCG experience is desirable.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills, ability to articulate financial data in a clear and transparent way.
  • Strong Excel skills and experience in building financial models.
  • Highly numerate and analytical with a keen eye for detail.
  • Deadline-focused and goal-oriented.
  • Enthusiastic to learn.
