Senior Civil Engineer - Highways

RPS Group is seeking an experienced Civil Engineer to join our team. As a Senior Civil Engineer, you will be responsible for leading the production of 3D models using Civil 3D software, converting 3D drawings into detailed designs, and coordinating the production of detailed drawing and specification output.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a Civil Engineer to progress their career in a dynamic and industry-leading team. You will be working on a variety of projects, including Aviation and Highways, and will have the opportunity to develop your skills and expertise in a supportive and collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the production of 3D models using Civil 3D software
  • Convert 3D drawings into detailed designs
  • Coordinate the production of detailed drawing and specification output
  • Develop and maintain technical knowledge of relevant legislation and standards
  • Collaborate with other design disciplines to complete design models, calculations, and sketches
  • Assist in overseeing drawing production and verifying work quality from colleagues
  • Manage the upload and download of documents within the document management system
  • Adhere to BIM protocols and office document standards
  • Provide essential support on projects
  • Assist in preparing fee proposals
  • Attend and actively contribute to project and client meetings
  • Attend site inspections and produce surveys when required

Requirements

  • Experience in the Aviation or Highways sector
  • Proficiency in creating Civil 3D models and extracting sections and quantities from the model
  • Knowledge of industry design guides
  • Technical knowledge of relevant legislation and standards
  • Experience in the use of engineering software
  • Commercial awareness and understanding of time and budget implications
