About the Role

We are seeking dedicated and compassionate individuals to join our team as Befriender Volunteers. As a Befriender Volunteer, you will play a vital role in providing companionship and support to individuals with learning disabilities and autism, who may also have sight loss.

Key Responsibilities
  • Visit individuals in their homes and engage in activities that promote social interaction and emotional well-being.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with individuals, their families, and other stakeholders.
  • Provide emotional support and companionship to individuals, helping them to build confidence and independence.
  • Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge.
Requirements
  • Be over 18 years old.
  • Have a good understanding of the needs and challenges faced by individuals with learning disabilities and autism.
  • Be able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
