Same-Day Van Planner Job Description

Are you a detail-oriented individual with a passion for logistics and a knack for managing complex operations? We're seeking a Same-Day Van Planner to join our dynamic team at CV Library, a leading organisation in the distribution industry.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Fleet Management: Assist in the management of our client's fleet of commercial vehicles and trailers, ensuring continuous roadworthiness and compliance with current legislation and company policies.
  2. Registration and Maintenance: Register and download vehicle and drivers' cards in accordance with company procedures and legal requirements, and maintain insurance records, fleet records, and DVSA records for all changes to the fleet.
  3. Transport Risk Assessment: Conduct transport risk assessments, investigate transport accidents, and report near misses to ensure a safe and efficient transportation network.
  4. Fleet Inspections and Services: Manage fleet inspections, services, MOTs, and breakdowns, ensuring minimal disruption and cost, and collaborate with the Transport Manager to manage fleet headcount and resource allocation.

Requirements: In-depth knowledge of current legislation and regulations related to commercial vehicles and drivers, proficiency in using fleet management software/systems, and excellent communication skills to keep the Operations Manager informed of any operational issues and fleet availability.
