About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity for a Service Psychologist to join the Alkaptonuria Team at Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for providing a neuropsychological assessment service for AKU, working closely with colleagues to deliver high-quality care to patients.
Main Responsibilities
- Communicate with patients and colleagues to assess and evaluate their needs, using a range of neuropsychological tests and assessments.
- Develop and implement effective treatment plans, working collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team.
- Contribute to the evaluation and improvement of the AKU service, including auditing and continuing appraisal of best practices.
- Advise service managers on issues, policies, and procedures affecting the client group.

Person Specification
- Undergraduate degree in psychology.
- Supervised postgraduate experience in neuropsychological assessment.
- Proven experience of managing caseloads independently.
- Demonstrable experience of working with colleagues from other professional disciplines.
- Experience in working with patients affected by rare diseases (desirable).
