About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Independent Scrutineer to join our team at Warwickshire County Council. As a key member of our safeguarding partnership, you will play a vital role in ensuring the welfare and protection of children and young people in our care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide independent scrutiny and advice to our safeguarding partnership, ensuring that we are meeting our statutory duties and responsibilities.
  • Lead on complex issues and facilitate meetings at a senior level, working closely with our partners to drive forward our safeguarding agenda.
  • Analyse complex information and provide robust scrutiny and challenge to ensure that our safeguarding practices are effective and efficient.
  • Develop and maintain productive partnerships with key stakeholders, including local authorities, police, and other agencies.
  • Stay up-to-date with relevant law, statutory guidance, and regulations, ensuring that our safeguarding practices are compliant and effective.
Requirements
  • Proven experience of performing scrutineer activity, managing complex issues, and facilitating meetings at a senior level.
  • Significant experience in providing independent scrutiny and advice within a partnership setting.
  • Excellent negotiation and influencing skills, with the ability to build and maintain productive partnerships.
  • Detailed understanding of relevant law, statutory guidance, and regulations.
  • Knowledge and understanding of effective partnership working in safeguarding children.
