About the Role
We're seeking a highly skilled and motivated Team Leader to join our Night Shift team at AO. As a Team Leader, you'll play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of our warehouse, working closely with our Night Shift Supervisor and the Warehouse team to achieve our business objectives.
You'll be responsible for providing support to ensure our appliances are handled with care, and vehicles are unloaded and loaded on time, both efficiently and safely. This includes supporting the Night Shift Supervisor and leading the team in their absence, working alongside the warehouse team, and promoting a safe working environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Night Shift Supervisor and lead the team in their absence
- Work alongside the warehouse team, leading by example and coaching the team
- Support training for new starters, including Safe Systems of Work and Health and Safety
- Promote a safe working environment, ensuring the team adheres to Health and Safety procedures
- Continually work towards reducing damage levels
- Delegate driver workload and allocate tasks to the team, as well as process paperwork
- Support with driver packs for the outgoing shift
- Assist with fleet management, ensuring all vehicles remain roadworthy and meet transport legislation
- Help support the shunting on the yard, ensuring site speed and safety regulations are being adhered to at all times
About You
We're looking for someone who can lead and motivate a diverse workforce, build good relationships with people even when under pressure, and make decisions in the absence of the Night Shift Supervisor to drive performance and service. You'll need to be able to react quickly to information and solve problems independently, with good communication skills both verbally and written, and competent use of Microsoft, particularly Excel.
