Job Title: SEND Teaching Assistant Long Term Contract

Empowering Learning is seeking a dedicated and experienced Teaching Assistant to join our team in an OFSTED graded 'Good' school in the Nottingham area.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will work in our enhanced resource unit, leading academic interventions with children working below age expected levels, supporting pupils with social and emotional needs, and working on a 1:1 basis with pupils who struggle to engage in class.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead academic interventions with children working below age expected levels
  • Support pupils with social and emotional needs
  • Work on a 1:1 basis with pupils who struggle to engage in class
  • Lead interventions around positive communication and teamwork
  • Manage the challenging behaviours of targeted individuals
Requirements:
  • Ability to build relationships with pupils who present with SEMH
  • At least one year's experience working in a school (voluntary or placements acceptable)
  • Excellent classroom control and behaviour management
  • Effective communication with pupils and colleagues
  • Ability to work effectively on your own and as part of a team
  • Positive role model for the children
