Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Child and Adolescent Eating Disorder Consultant Psychiatrist to join our team at NELFT NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide senior medical support and guidance to our clinicians, working directly with children and young people with mental health needs, particularly those with eating disorders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide senior medical leadership and guidance to the team, ensuring high-quality care and treatment for children and young people with eating disorders.
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, including psychologists, nurses, and social workers, to develop and implement effective treatment plans.
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and provide expert medical advice to inform treatment decisions.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with external partners, including acute hospitals and other mental health providers, to ensure seamless care pathways.
  • Participate in the on-call rota, providing 24/7 medical support and guidance to the team.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of service-wide initiatives, ensuring best practice and evidence-based care.
Requirements
  • Full GMC registration with a licence to practice.
  • CCT or equivalent in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
  • Section 12 Approval or eligibility for it.
  • Approved Clinician status, or eligibility for it.
  • Inclusion in, or eligibility for inclusion in the Specialist Register or within 6 months of obtaining CCST.
