About this role:

We are seeking an experienced Consultant to join our Emergency Department team at Broomfield Hospital. As a Consultant in Emergency Care, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, leading a team of junior doctors, and contributing to the development of emergency medicine services.

Main responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be expected to:

  • Supervise a team of junior medical staff and contribute to the development of emergency medicine services.
  • Work to the Consultant on-call rota, with a 1:10 weekday and 1:5 weekend on-call commitment.
  • Participate in the review and development of the emergency department, in partnership with the existing consultants and management team.

Person specification:

The ideal candidate will have:

  • MBBS or equivalent qualification.
  • GMC registration with entry on the Specialist Register or eligibility for entry within six months.
  • Experience of supervising undergraduates, junior doctors, and other staff.
  • Knowledge of the principles of research and audit, with the ability to interpret and apply clinical research.
