Claims Specialist Role Overview

Aon is seeking an experienced Claims Specialist to join our Global Claims team. As a Claims Specialist, you will be responsible for the management, strategy, and process for the notification, agreement, collection, and successful settlement of a portfolio of Financial Lines claims.

Key Responsibilities

  • First notification of loss for D&O, PI, and Crime claims
  • Negotiation and liaison with markets, clients, placement teams, specialists, network offices, underwriters, and appointed authorities (loss adjusters, lawyers, etc.)
  • Conduct data analysis to establish the claims history for a particular client or business portfolio and to identify trends and patterns in claims for a client or business segment
  • Negotiate the payment and settlement of claims with clients and underwriters
  • Coordinate discussions and, where appropriate, meetings to ensure a superior level of communication between the client, underwriter, and their representatives concerning the proposed settlement
  • Engage with the Head of Financial Lines Advocacy in the strategy to conclude contentious claims

Requirements

  • Experience dealing with claims from first notification of loss to resolution
  • Knowledge of Financial Lines Claims and confidence to coordinate and initiate discussions with our networks, clients, underwriters, and experts
  • Experience of the CLASS and ECF Processing system (preferable)
  • Proficient in Word and Excel
  • Strong interpersonal skills
