About the Role

We are seeking an exceptional nurse with a commitment and passion for children's palliative care to join our team as a Clinical Nurse Specialist Team Lead. As a clinical nurse specialist, you will lead, advise and support medical, nursing and AHP colleagues in hospital and community on all aspects of care for children on a palliative care pathway.

Main Responsibilities

  • Provide expert advice and guidance on all aspects of palliative and end of life care
  • Lead, develop and implement a specialist palliative / end of life care structured education / training programme
  • Provide strong clinical leadership and daily operational management of the county-wide short-breaks team

Requirements

  • NMC Registered Nurse (Child)
  • First Degree in relevant subject / equivalent qualification or experience
  • Leadership & management qualification or equivalent experience
  • Teaching & Mentorship Qualification

Desirable Qualifications

  • MSc Palliative Medicine for Health Care Professionals
  • Advanced communication course
  • NMC recorded V300 Non-Medical Prescribing qualification

Previous Experience

  • Evidence of a wide experience of children's nursing
  • Recent experience of caring for children and young people with medical complexities, life-limiting and/or progressive illness at Band 6 level with experience in palliative / end of life care
  • Experience of managing a nursing caseload and of working within the Community Setting
