About the Role

Prospero Teaching is partnering with Primary Schools in the North East to recruit experienced Classroom Support Specialists. The successful candidate will provide support to pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups, working closely with the class teacher to promote positive learning outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide 1:1 support to pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and challenging behaviour
  • Manage challenging behaviour in a positive and proactive manner
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with class teachers to support pupil development
  • Prepare learning materials and resources for lessons
  • Supervise pupils during break times and lunch times
  • Interact and engage with pupils to encourage learning and build rapport
  • Liaise with parents and external agencies to discuss pupil progress

Our ideal candidate will have enhanced DBS clearance, a childcare-based qualification (preferred but not essential), and experience supporting pupils in a school setting. They will be able to build positive relationships with pupils and staff, possess a resilient and proactive nature, and have high levels of enthusiasm and energy when working with children.
