At Thames Water, we are seeking a highly skilled Management Accountant to join our team. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for performing general accounting functions and promoting financial insight within the business.

About the Role:

">
  • You will support the Finance Manager in closing management accounts and providing assurance on numbers and commentary.
  • Working across the wider finance team, you will document, align, and improve processes to drive efficiency and consistency.
  • You will produce and prepare audited financial statements in accordance with accounting standards and coordinate year-end audits.
  • You will ensure compliance with accounting standards and Thames Water control frameworks, communicating with internal stakeholders to maintain accurate core system data.
  • You will respond to ad hoc requests for analytics, providing support to Business Partners for cost visibility, business case preparation, and financial performance investigation.
  • You will support the recording, reconciliation, and analysis of accounting activities and period-end close activities according to agreed schedules and timetables.

Key Requirements:

">
  • Systems experience with SAP.
  • Strong technical knowledge and understanding of IFRS (specifically capitalization).
  • Ability to work well as part of a team and take ownership to complete tasks independently.
  • Clear communication.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize multiple projects to meet deadlines and produce high-quality work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Accounting qualification (ACA, CIMA, CPA, CMA, CHAE or equivalent).
