We are seeking a highly skilled Category Specialist to join our team at Shared Services Partnership. As a Category Specialist, you will play a key role in understanding markets for your category and advising on procurement strategies, procurement processes, and contract awards that meet our strategic priorities and context.
Key responsibilities include enabling category management in the Council, reporting to a Category Lead, and helping the Council to translate strategy into delivery by advising on and running appropriate procurement activities for purchasing and informing contracts that can be readily managed.
You will be responsible for drafting and providing advice on the preparation of procurement documents, running a procurement process in accordance with the relevant legislation and the Council's own processes and procedures, and being familiar with using eProcurement systems.
We are looking for a professional with Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS) qualifications or experience in procurement, and knowledge and experience of supplies and services that sit under the Council-wide category.
As a Category Specialist, you will be part of a team that is committed to being 'ruthlessly financially efficient' in everything that we do, to ensure that our residents and services are receiving the best value for money while challenging old-fashioned thinking, unfairness, and removing waste where possible.
We value our employees and offer a comprehensive total reward package, including flexible working arrangements. We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people, and adults and expect all employees, workers, and volunteers to share this commitment.
We are an inclusive employer and are committed to removing barriers in the workplace, including adjustments throughout the recruitment process. If you would like to discuss any adjustments or request the application form in a different format, please contact us at resourcing-peopleandtalent@lbhf.gov.uk or by post to The Town Hall, King Street, Hammersmith W6 9JU.
We are a Disability Confident Employer and are committed to ensuring that our recruitment and selection process is inclusive and accessible.
We believe in being fair, caring, collaborative, and driven in everything that we do. We are looking for someone who shares these values and is committed to making a difference in our community.
Please refer to the Role Profile for more information.
