Job Title: Senior Coastal Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Coastal Engineer to join our team at AtkinsRéalis. As a Senior Coastal Engineer, you will play a vital role in shaping the future of our cities and environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a team to undertake technical design work following relevant design standards and codes.
  • Prepare briefs, scopes of work, and input into bid proposals.
  • Successfully manage time and budgets to key project milestones and programmes.
  • Work closely with teams in the UK and overseas to deliver integrated design solutions.
  • Adhere to quality assurance standards in design.

Requirements:

  • Chartered Civil Engineer.
  • Experience in design delivery, including multidisciplinary design.
  • Sound knowledge in ocean waves, tidal theory, extreme value statistics, nearshore wave processes, and sediment transport.
  • Design experience of coastal structures such as flood defences, sea walls, breakwaters, revetments, and beaches to appropriate codes and standards.
  • The ability to plan and direct others in the use of numerical modelling to simulate wave propagation, tidal flows, hydrodynamics, etc.
