At Fugro, we are seeking a skilled Senior Marine Environmental Scientist to join our team in Portchester or Edinburgh. As a key member of our Marine Site Characterisation business line, you will play a pivotal role in training and mentoring junior colleagues, analysing seafloor photographic data, and providing technical input into innovation projects.

The Role

Your responsibilities will include ensuring the highest standard of work quality, preparing environmental technical reports using mapping software, and adhering to company-specific standards and QHSSE policies. With a focus on benthic habitats, you will be working with a talented team to provide clients and regulatory organisations with valuable insights into the effects of developments and activities in the coastal and marine environment.

Requirements
  • BSc or MSc in Marine Science, Environmental Science, or relevant equivalent;
  • Experience of writing and quality control of habitat assessments;
  • Experience of benthic species ID and sensitive habitat assessments;
  • Experience in mentoring personnel;
  • Good Microsoft Office and GIS capabilities;
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills;
  • Proven ability to work to deadlines.

We offer a competitive salary of £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, plus an attractive benefits package, including contributory pension scheme, life assurance, private medical insurance, and flexible hybrid working arrangements.
