Rent Officer Job Description

Framework Housing Association is seeking a skilled Rent Officer to join our Rents Team. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our rent accounting system.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the rent accounting system is up-to-date and accurate.
  • Liaise with Local Authority Housing Benefit departments and other funders to maximise income recovery.
  • Prepare reports from the rent accounting system and send to internal and external recipients.
  • Monitor accounts and take appropriate actions.
  • Respond to queries and inform relevant parties of outstanding issues.
  • Provide data for performance management.
  • Refund overpayments in a timely manner.
  • Liaise with service staff to ensure awareness of rent procedures and resolve rental issues.

Requirements:

  • Experience in rent accounting or a related field.
  • Knowledge of housing benefit regulations.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to work accurately and efficiently.
