About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Staff Nurse/Operating Department Practitioner to join our busy operating theatre team at Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust.

The successful candidate will provide high-quality clinical care to patients, working effectively as part of a multi-professional team and demonstrating excellent communication skills. A comprehensive induction package will be provided by our Practice Development Team.

The role involves working nights and weekends, as well as participating in an on-call rota. The successful candidate will be required to work autonomously and as part of a team to deliver high standards of care to patients and their carers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality clinical care to patients, in line with Trust values and professional regulations.
  • Accept delegated responsibility for specific activities/areas from the senior nurse in charge.
  • Work in line with Trust policies, objectives, protocols, and local guidelines, while adhering to the Trust values and NMC regulations.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, carers, and staff at all times.
  • Continuously develop, practice, and expand nursing skills.
  • Maintain high standards of professional and ethical responsibility, accountability, and awareness of medico-legal aspects of nursing.

  • RGN Level 1/RODP
  • Basic Life Support Course

  • Experience of working in theatre
