Senior Financial Analyst - Supply Chain Optimization

Amazon Supply Chain forms the backbone of the fastest growing ecommerce business in the world. The Supply Chain Finance team is responsible for ensuring that the planning and execution of the UK fulfilment is implemented in the most cost optimal way.

We are looking for a Senior Financial Analyst to join our team, where you will provide us with the visibility we need to drive Amazon forward. The Supply Chain Finance team continuously pushes improvement in our inbound and outbound metrics, including optimising inventory placement, processing efficiencies, maximising speed and minimising distance travelled with the aim to deliver an excellent experience to our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Partner with Supply Chain and Operations to drive continuous improvement in financial and operational performance.
  2. Accurate reporting of EU level strategic projects, sharing financial analysis with business partners, making recommendations to reduce costs or optimise operational metrics further.
  3. Create meaningful reports to support with strategic decision making through outstanding data collection and analysis.
  4. Via root cause analysis, deep dive variances to budgets for the network, identifying risks and opportunities.
Requirements
  1. BA or BS degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Engineering, or any similar discipline with a clear analytical bias.
  2. Demonstrable financial acumen, including deep familiarity with concepts of forecasting, budgeting and variance analysis, as well as in root cause data interpretation.
  3. Experienced with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (i.e. SQL, MS Access, PowerBI, Python);
  4. Advanced-level proficiency in Excel; you're comfortable with power query, pivots, lookups, VBA and more.
  5. You've gained significant, relevant experience in similar senior analyst position.
Preferred Qualifications
  1. Demonstrable problem-solving ability, alongside previous analyst experience, particularly in root cause analysis.
  2. You combine your professional competency with an ability to develop new ideas, and creative solutions: you implement these to great effect.
  3. Previous analyst experience in the financial side of manufacturing, logistics or distribution centre processes is a nice to have.
