UK Compliance Manager

Gleeds is a global construction consultancy with a century of success in the Built Environment. Our impartial advice helps clients maximise return on investment, from site acquisition to project completion.

You will be joining Gleeds as Compliance Manager with the overall responsibility of managing the Gleeds Compliance Team. Reporting to the Gleeds Compliance Director, you will lead the compliance team to provide high quality governance and compliance for all Gleeds' business activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Developing, implementing, and overseeing Gleeds' Regulatory Compliance regime and adherence to Ethical Standards as required by jurisdictional regulations.
  2. Developing policies with guidance for implementation in each jurisdiction and obtaining approvals/sign-off (in conjunction with other Compliance Team members).
  3. Acting as primary liaison with global regulatory bodies, managing all external audits and enquiries from third parties such as SGS Yarsley.
  4. Designing and monitoring Gleeds' Quality Management System (QMS), Information Security Management System (ISMS), Personal Information Management System (PIMS), Business Continuity Management System (BCMS), Environmental Management System (EMS), and Occupational Health and Safety Management System (OHSMS).
  5. Acting as Gleeds' Data Protection Officer for the UK.
  6. Management of Customer Due Diligence checking procedures for all new customers and updating CDD policy when necessary.
  7. Managing internal compliance audits with local stakeholders.
  8. Working collaboratively with key stakeholders in creating/fostering a Compliance culture (including governance and compliance training management).
  9. Managing and controlling the Compliance Team budget.
  10. Monitor emerging legislation globally across all Gleeds jurisdictions and advise the Compliance Director on compliance strategies and operational adjustments.
  11. Providing leadership and management of Compliance Team which consists of 2 FTE.

Requirements:

  1. Proven track-record in compliance in a large and growing agile market leading global business.
  2. Ability to work effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, including auditors, suppliers, advisers and regulatory authorities.
  3. Good knowledge of compliance software and technology.
  4. Ability to think strategically and identify opportunities to streamline the compliance burden.
  5. MBA, AICA, MICA GradCG / ACG, Chartered Secretary or Chartered Governance professional.
