The successful candidate will assist in the resolution of client incidents, maintain asset management frameworks, support technical documentation, and work towards completing an Apprenticeship Qualification. Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in resolving client issues, working as part of a dynamic team to resolve challenges.
  • Maintain and improve asset management frameworks, ensuring software and hardware are up-to-date and compliant.
  • Support comprehensive technical documentation, including requirements, design specifications, test plans, operator manuals, and quality documentation.
  • Participate in commissioning customer sites, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Work towards achieving an Apprenticeship Qualification.
Essential Skills:
  • Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • A strong aptitude for hands-on technical work and willingness to learn.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft software products is desirable.
Personal Qualities:
  • An interest in systems engineering principles and methodologies is essential.
  • An understanding of electrical concepts and manufacturing processes is also required.
  • A full UK driving licence or ability to obtain one is desirable.
  • Candidates may be required to achieve security and medical clearances as part of the employment process.
Things to Consider:

As an Apprentice Service Engineer, you can expect to spend time at the University of Sheffield's AMRC Training Centre in Catcliffe, Sheffield. You will attend lectures and workshops, learning from experienced engineers and gaining practical skills. After initial training, you will split your time between on-the-job training and studying at the AMRC Training Centre.

Please note that exemptions may apply to certain programme years, requiring travel and overnight hotel accommodation.

Successful candidates must meet the following entry requirements:

  • GCSE English language C or 4 or above.
  • GCSE Maths C or 4 or above.

You will need one of the following qualifications:

  • A minimum of two A-Levels at grade B or above, including a mathematical-based subject and a science, technology, engineering or mathematics-related subject.
  • An Engineering BTEC Level 3 with at least 120 credits at DM (Distinction Merit) level or above.
  • EAL Diploma in an engineering-based subject at D (Distinction) level.
  • Equivalent qualifications such as Technical Levels at DM or above.
