Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Procurement Engineer to join our team at Elsdon Group. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the end-to-end procurement process, including developing procurement strategies, sourcing suppliers, and overseeing tendering and contract negotiations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Procurement Strategy: Develop and implement effective procurement strategies to achieve project objectives.
  • Supplier Management: Manage relationships with suppliers, ensuring timely delivery of materials and services while maintaining quality standards.
  • Cost Control: Identify cost-saving opportunities and develop strategies to reduce Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) without compromising on quality.
  • Contract Negotiation: Negotiate contracts with suppliers, collaborating with project managers and main office teams to ensure contracts are reviewed, approved, and finalized in a timely manner.
  • Logistics Coordination: Oversee the ordering and timely delivery of materials, ensuring they meet quality standards and arrive in alignment with the construction schedule.
  • Market Intelligence: Continuously monitor market developments, including supply chain trends, risk factors, and emerging opportunities, to inform procurement strategies and supplier selection.
Requirements:
  • Educational Background: Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 4 years in procurement, particularly within MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) contracting projects.
  • UK Market Knowledge: Familiarity with UK procurement standards and supplier networks is a plus.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in ERP software, preferably SAP, and strong analytical capabilities.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent decision-making, negotiation, and communication skills, with a proactive approach to problem-solving and relationship management.
  • Stakeholder Management: Skilled in managing expectations and building strong partnerships with suppliers, subcontractors, and internal project teams.
