Role Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at Future Education. As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with special educational needs, particularly those with Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA).

Responsibilities
  • Support the classroom teacher in delivering personalized learning plans for students with PDA.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of strategies to promote positive behavior and engagement.
  • Foster a safe and supportive learning environment that encourages student participation and independence.
  • Collaborate with other staff members, parents, and external professionals to ensure the best outcomes for students.
  • Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to the teaching team.
Requirements
  • Experience working with children with special educational needs, particularly those with PDA, is highly desirable.
  • A relevant qualification in education or child development (e.g., Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification) is preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students and staff.
  • Patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Commitment to promoting the well-being and development of all students.
