Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate SEND Support Assistant to provide dedicated 1:1 support for a Year 2 pupil with specific needs in a welcoming primary school environment.

About the Role
  • Provide personalized support to the pupil, focusing on their individual needs and learning goals.
  • Assist with personal care tasks as required, ensuring the pupil's dignity and comfort.
  • Support the pupil in accessing the curriculum and participating in classroom activities.
  • Work closely with the class teacher and SENDCO to monitor progress and adapt strategies as needed.
Key Responsibilities
  1. Deliver high-quality 1:1 support to the pupil, promoting their engagement and participation in learning activities.
  2. Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment, encouraging the pupil's independence and self-confidence.
  3. Collaborate with the class teacher and SENDCO to develop and implement tailored strategies that meet the pupil's unique needs.
Requirements
  • Experience working with children, particularly those with cognitive delays and additional needs.
  • Skills in providing personal care and supporting physical needs in an educational setting.
  • A patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach to working with children, ensuring they feel safe and valued.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of SEND principles and practices, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team. A proactive attitude towards fostering independence and encouraging engagement in learning activities is essential for this role.

Salary and Benefits

£95-£110 per day (dependent on experience), plus benefits package including professional development opportunities and a supportive working environment.
