Job Summary


Northern Marine is seeking a highly skilled Offshore Vessel Operations Manager to oversee the safe and efficient operation of our vessels in the Glasgow area. This key role is responsible for ensuring all Company vessels meet the required standards for safety, environmental compliance, and maintenance.



  • Develop and implement vessel operation strategies to minimize downtime and optimize asset utilization.
  • Collaborate with shore-based staff and vessel crews to ensure adherence to Company policies, flag state regulations, and classification society requirements.
  • Conduct regular audits to monitor vessel performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions.
  • Provide technical guidance and advice to vessel staff and Company management on matters related to vessel operations, maintenance, and safety.
  • Ensure accurate and timely completion of vessel documentation, including surveys, certifications, and maintenance records.
  • Work closely with the purchasing department to procure necessary vessel spares, supplies, and services within approved budgets.
  • Assist in the preparation of annual operating cost budgets and quarterly financial reports to ensure accurate cost control and maintain Company standards of safety and quality.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Senior Management to support the efficient operation of our vessels.

Requirements


We are seeking a candidate with a Class One Certificate of Competency, minimum OOW Certificate of Competency, or equivalent academic qualification/experience. Strong knowledge of ISM/ISPS/MLC and vessel operations is essential. Excellent interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills are required, as well as commercial acumen and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
