Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Regional Chef to join our team at Bright Horizons. As a Regional Chef, you will be responsible for leading our kitchen operations and ensuring that our high standards of food quality and safety are maintained.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and supervise kitchen staff to ensure efficient and effective food preparation and service.
  • Develop and implement menus that meet the dietary needs of our children and staff.
  • Ensure that all food safety and hygiene procedures are followed at all times.
  • Monitor and control kitchen budgets to ensure that we are operating within our financial targets.
  • Collaborate with our nursery teams to ensure that our food service is aligned with our educational and care goals.
  • Induct, coach, and mentor new staff members to ensure that they have the skills and knowledge required to perform their roles effectively.
  • Develop and implement new menu ideas and recipes to ensure that our food service remains innovative and exciting.
  • Ensure that all kitchen equipment and facilities are maintained in good working order.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with our suppliers to ensure that we are getting the best value for money.
  • Ensure that all food waste is minimized and that our kitchen operations are environmentally sustainable.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a senior kitchen management role.
  • Strong leadership and management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of food safety and hygiene procedures.
  • Ability to develop and implement menus that meet the dietary needs of our children and staff.
  • Ability to monitor and control kitchen budgets.
  • Ability to collaborate with our nursery teams.
  • Ability to induct, coach, and mentor new staff members.
  • Ability to develop and implement new menu ideas and recipes.
  • Ability to ensure that all kitchen equipment and facilities are maintained in good working order.
  • Ability to develop and maintain relationships with our suppliers.
  • Ability to ensure that all food waste is minimized and that our kitchen operations are environmentally sustainable.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Food Safety CIEH L2 or above or equivalent.
  • Ability to transfer skills across different settings.
  • Understanding of EHO process.

  • Ability to communicate and share knowledge with both colleagues, children, and parents.
  • Ability to communicate clearly using a variety of techniques.
