Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Regional Chef to join our team at Bright Horizons. As a Regional Chef, you will be responsible for leading our kitchen operations and ensuring that our high standards of food quality and safety are maintained.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and supervise kitchen staff to ensure efficient and effective food preparation and service.
- Develop and implement menus that meet the dietary needs of our children and staff.
- Ensure that all food safety and hygiene procedures are followed at all times.
- Monitor and control kitchen budgets to ensure that we are operating within our financial targets.
- Collaborate with our nursery teams to ensure that our food service is aligned with our educational and care goals.
- Induct, coach, and mentor new staff members to ensure that they have the skills and knowledge required to perform their roles effectively.
- Develop and implement new menu ideas and recipes to ensure that our food service remains innovative and exciting.
- Ensure that all kitchen equipment and facilities are maintained in good working order.
- Develop and maintain relationships with our suppliers to ensure that we are getting the best value for money.
- Ensure that all food waste is minimized and that our kitchen operations are environmentally sustainable.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in a senior kitchen management role.
- Strong leadership and management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene procedures.
- Ability to develop and implement menus that meet the dietary needs of our children and staff.
- Ability to monitor and control kitchen budgets.
- Ability to collaborate with our nursery teams.
- Ability to induct, coach, and mentor new staff members.
- Ability to develop and implement new menu ideas and recipes.
- Ability to ensure that all kitchen equipment and facilities are maintained in good working order.
- Ability to develop and maintain relationships with our suppliers.
- Ability to ensure that all food waste is minimized and that our kitchen operations are environmentally sustainable.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Food Safety CIEH L2 or above or equivalent.
- Ability to transfer skills across different settings.
- Understanding of EHO process.

- Ability to communicate and share knowledge with both colleagues, children, and parents.
- Ability to communicate clearly using a variety of techniques.
