Job Summary

University Hospital Southampton NHS Trust is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our Research Team as a Clinical Trials Assistant. This is an exciting opportunity to develop clinical and research delivery skills in a dynamic and multidisciplinary team.

About the Role

As a Clinical Trials Assistant, you will be responsible for providing support to embedded research teams across the trust and within our dedicated NIHR clinical research facility. You will work on new and existing studies, participating in research within various specialties across the trust and in the community. Our team is committed to delivering high-quality research that improves patient care and outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the coordination and delivery of clinical trials and studies
  • Provide administrative support to research teams, including data management and record-keeping
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to implement studies and translate scientific discoveries into improved patient outcomes
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of clinical research principles and practices
Person Specification

We are looking for an individual with excellent communication and teamwork skills, who is able to work independently and as part of a team. You will have a strong interest in clinical research and a willingness to learn and develop your skills. Essential qualifications include a Level 3 qualification in a relevant subject area and GCSE Level 4 or above in Maths and English. Desirable qualifications include a degree or higher education in a relevant subject area and IT-related qualifications.
