Location: Gloucestershire or Oxfordshire, with regular travel to client sites across the South

About the Role

This is a key position in our client's compliance, energy, and sustainability team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that environmental monitoring, control, and management systems at landfills and other facilities operate efficiently.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the efficient running and maintenance of environmental control systems to ensure compliance
  • Understand environmental management and monitoring infrastructure for continuous performance assessment
  • Manage gas utilisation plants to maximise gas capture and minimise emissions
  • Regularly review gas infrastructure at landfills to identify improvement opportunities
  • Communicate with regulatory bodies like the Environment Agency
  • Assist with environmental permit applications and variations
  • Support landfill technicians with ad-hoc tasks or monitoring
  • Identify and propose new technologies that reduce environmental impact
  • Take on project management roles during site works, including landfill engineering
  • Manage contractors, including inductions, supervision, and monitoring
  • Ensure adherence to company policies, including health and safety regulations
Requirements
  • Experience in environmental monitoring and control at landfills
  • Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks in waste management
  • Experience in project and contractor management
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and databases
  • Full driving license
