Assistant Scientist Role

We are seeking an Assistant Scientist to join our Entomology Team at SRG, a renowned science company dedicated to crop health, food safety and environmental science. As a member of our team, you will play a vital role in delivering insect identifications by being responsible for logging in samples, maintaining sample quality and cleaning laboratory equipment.
About the role- Preparing samples for identification and accurately booking them in.
- Distributing and tracking samples to different departments.
- Data entry and ordering laboratory equipment and consumables.
- Maintaining accurate written and computer records.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work with live and dead insects, mites, and other invertebrates in a dynamic laboratory environment. We offer a competitive hourly rate of £12.27 and a supportive team environment.
Requirements- 5 GCSEs at Grade C or above (including English and Maths or Science) or equivalent experience.
- Experience of working in a laboratory environment and following protocols or standard operating procedures.
- Practical IT skills in software packages such as Microsoft Word and Excel.
