Civica Seeks Experienced Engineering Manager

Civica, a leading provider of software solutions for the public sector, is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead our Health and Care Division's engineering teams. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a team of highly skilled engineers, driving a culture of engineering excellence, and delivering high-quality software products that meet the needs of citizens worldwide.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of engineers to deliver high-quality software products in line with product roadmaps.
  • Collaborate with the Product Team to implement product strategy and roadmaps.
  • Develop structured plans for the engineering team to ensure products are built to the highest standards of maintainability, reliability, and security.
  • Drive regular assessments and training programs to ensure team members have the necessary skills and experience to deliver in line with agreed backlogs.
  • Implement Agile practices and processes to deliver high release cadence and high-quality software.
  • Measure the impact of the engineering team and act upon these to deliver optimization.
  • Line manage engineers, including goal setting and performance reviews.
  • Drive a strong testing culture and embed ownership for testing and quality in the engineering teams.
  • Ensure adherence to technical standards, coding standards, security standards, and development best practices.

The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, experience with cloud platforms, and a proven track record of delivering commitments on time and quality. They will be a strong advocate for Agile and modern engineering practices, with a breadth of knowledge across a wide range of development frameworks and languages.
