The Mechanical and Electrical Building Services Technician role has responsibility for the reliable and compliant operation of the estate wide services and equipment serving all business functions across the European Knowledge Centre (EKC) facility at Hatfield. The main purpose is to deliver a high standard of mechanical and electrical services throughout the EKC business, within the estates engineering team. To plan and undertake routine scheduled maintenance of plant and/or equipment with stakeholders, causing minimal disruption. This position will require you to be on call 1 in 6.

We are offering a competitive salary of £35,000 - £45,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus excellent benefits package including Electric charging points for Electric/Hybrid vehicles, Discretionary Bonus, Free onsite parking, Subsidised onsite restaurant and coffee shop, Learning and development opportunities, Retail discounts, Well-being & mental health awareness programmes and Multi-faith prayer room.

For this role, we are looking for individuals with City & Guilds electrical qualification or equivalent (BS7671 & C&G 2391), City & Guilds mechanical qualification or equivalent, Educated to ONC/HNC, Excellent verbal and written English skills. Essential requirements include Engineering experience in similar regulated environment, Good awareness of Health and Safety, Multi-Skilled in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, Experience on steam boilers – blowdowns and water treatment., VSD's, motor controls and relay logic, Domestic and low temperature hot water systems., AHU's, FCU's, chilled water and compressed air systems, Working knowledge of “Permit to work” systems., Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and equipment manuals. It would be desirable if candidates have IOSH Institution of Occupational Safety and Health, Critical Environment Experience., Engineering experience in pharmaceuticals, Water systems and associated risks (ACoPs L8/water treatment).
