Community Event Assistant

The Dudson Centre & Museum invites applications from enthusiastic and dedicated individuals to join our team as Community Event Assistants. As a valued member of our events team, you will contribute to the success of our events and activities, promoting the heritage and culture of the site.
Your key responsibilities will include supporting the planning and coordination of events, assisting with setup and clearing away, delivering excellent customer service, and contributing to the development of new events and activities. You will work closely with our experienced team to ensure the smooth running of events and provide a warm welcome to our visitors.
This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience in event planning, coordination, and execution while making a positive impact on the community. You will receive comprehensive training, including role shadowing and ongoing support, to ensure your success in the role. Additionally, you will enjoy flexible working hours and the opportunity to develop your skills in a dynamic environment.
In return for your time and expertise, you will receive travel expenses and a lunch voucher if you volunteer for over four hours in one day. This role is perfect for those looking to make a difference in their community while gaining valuable work experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the planning and coordination of events, including activity research and preparation.
- Assist with setting up and clearing away after events, ensuring the site is left in its original condition.
- Deliver excellent customer service, welcoming visitors from diverse backgrounds and abilities.
- Contribute to the development of new events and activities, aligning with the centre's mission and values.

- Show enthusiasm for learning about local history, ceramics, arts, and crafts.
