Job Description:

Polaris Community, a leading provider of residential care and support services, is seeking a passionate and dedicated Residential Childcare Support Worker to join our team on a casual basis. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to children and young adults with emotional behavioral difficulties.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized care and support to children and young adults, promoting their physical, emotional, and social well-being.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with young people, their families, and other professionals.
  • Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to ensure the delivery of high-quality care and support.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of individual care plans, ensuring the needs of each young person are met.
  • Contribute to the creation of a safe and supportive living environment, promoting the well-being and dignity of all young people.
  • Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge.

Requirements:

  • Experience of working with children and young people, preferably in a residential care setting.
  • Ability to work flexibly, including evenings, weekends, and sleep-in shifts.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with young people, families, and colleagues.
  • Knowledge of child development, behavior management, and safeguarding principles.
  • Ability to work as part of a team, with a flexible and adaptable approach.
  • Hold a relevant qualification in childcare or a related field, or be willing to work towards one.
  • Full UK driving license and access to a vehicle (desirable).
