About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled individual to join our team as a Sexual Offence Examiner at Mountain Healthcare. As a key member of our clinical forensic healthcare team, you will play a critical role in providing dedicated support and care to victims of sexual assault.

This is an exciting opportunity for a Registered Nurse, Midwife, or Paramedic to develop their skills and expertise in forensic examination and victim support. You will receive comprehensive training and support to become a qualified Forensic Practitioner, with opportunities for further education and career development.

As a Sexual Offence Examiner, you will be responsible for conducting forensic examinations, obtaining forensic exhibits, and working in partnership with external multidisciplinary teams and police. You will also be the first point of contact for victims, police, and social services to discuss referral pathways and manage the self-referral pathway.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Developing forensic strategies according to FFLM guidelines
  • Actively working in partnership with external MDTs and Police
  • First point of contact for victims, Police and Social Services to discuss referral pathways
  • Managing and promoting the self-referral pathway
  • Undertaking holistic assessments including sexual health, mental health, and safeguarding
  • Producing individual management plans
  • Supporting the continued quality improvement of the service
  • Working under the Forensic Science Regulator requirements
  • Obtaining consent for Health and Forensic procedures
Essential Skills

Essential skills required:

  • Qualified Registered Nurse, Midwife, or Paramedic
  • A minimum of 3 years + relevant post-qualification experience
  • Knowledge and understanding of safeguarding children and adults
  • Knowledge and understanding of confidentiality
  • Phlebotomy skills
  • Experience of autonomous working
  • Due to the nature of the role, applications are invited from females only. This post has a genuine occupational qualification under the Sex Discrimination Act, Section 7(2)b and 7(2)e.
  • A UK driving license is required for this role and access to a vehicle
  • Advanced DBS and level 2 Police vetting will be required
