Job Title: Procurement Assistant

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Procurement Assistant to join our team at VolkerWessels UK. As a Procurement Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting our procurement function, ensuring the smooth operation of our procurement processes, and providing excellent customer service to our clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and issue small material orders, ensuring timely delivery and accurate documentation.
  • Obtain material quotations in accordance with the Site Team's/Contract requirements, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Provide support in invoice dispute resolution, working closely with the procurement team to resolve issues efficiently.
  • Process orders using term deals, ensuring accurate coding and VAT invoicing.
  • Make card payments over the phone for small transactional requirements, maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with company policies.
  • Reconcile Purchase cards with coding and upload VAT invoices, ensuring accurate financial records.
  • Support Procurement with the governance process, maintaining templates and liaising with approvers to explain package approvals required and obtain signatures.
  • Support the Head of Procurement with the completion of Sub-Contract award processes, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Provide a complete administration function as required, including producing reports and maintaining accurate records.
About You:
  • Experience in the construction industry is preferable but not essential.
  • Some procurement or buying experience is preferred, but not necessary.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines is crucial.
  • Friendly and helpful attitude, with a willingness to learn and develop skills.
